2017 was a very interesting year to say the least.

Here’s to hoping for a better year next year. 2018, we’re counting on you!

And here’s to hoping you have a very Merry Christmas! I hope you enjoy your time off work and your time around the tree and with loved ones. I hope our Christmas break stays quiet so that we can get some peace and really recharge. One of the ways I’m going to recharge is by trying red wine hot chocolate. Have you guys tried that? It sounds amazing!

I’m also going to keep up on reading the Philippa Greggory series. You guys should read it. It’s based on true events, but it’s so deliciously dramatic as a historical fiction. The Lady of the Rivers is my favorite so far.

I’ll be hosting my husband’s family over at our house tomorrow. So hopefully all goes well! Especially my cupcakes. I haven’t made cupcakes or cakes in a while and decided to use red. Oh how I forgot that red can look so pink, so I did a quick search and found that if I just have a little patience, the red will deepen over time. Basically I need to let this sit for a day or two. Well, I don’t have a day or two, so here’s to hoping that overnight helps, because I hate using so much red food dye coloring. It’s kind of gross and just takes away from how amazing icing really is. Fingers crossed!

My grandparents are in town. We’ll be having them over on Sunday as they haven’t seen our house yet, then getting together with the rest of the family on Monday.

I don’t know if it’ll happen, but I’m definitely hoping to sit down and focus on the blog. Definitely need to finish up a couple of posts that I’ve got lined up but requires a little research.

I hope you guys have a very Merry Christmas!
